Dinner for one

Just in case you didn't know, there is a theater-play that has been broadcast in Germany every New years eve for as long as I can remember.
It was recorded in 1963 and features Freddy Frinton and May Ward.
I still find it funny after all these years.
I remember the New Years eve party grinding to a halt each year and everyone crowding into the living room of whoever was hosting the festivities to view this.
New year wouldn't have been right without it...

Miss Sophie is celebrating her 90th birthday.
Her usual birthday guests are Sir Toby, Admiral von Schneider, Mr Pommeroy and Mr Winterbottom.
Unfortunately she has survived them all but is reluctant to give up this treasured tradition.
Luckily James, her Butler of many years, is ready to step in and take over the roles of her late friends...
